Have I come off as the rebellious type to you? No, well then I haven’t been completely forthcoming with you. Okay slightly kidding but let me tell you about >>>
That One Time We Got Evicted!!
Flashback to May of 2010 - My Graduation from North Dakota State University. I graduated in 4 years with a degree that wasn’t University Studies but it very well could have been because I had NO CLUE what I wanted to do with my life. Anyway this was something to be celebrated {of course} so we decided to party the night away.
We closed the bar down and walked across the street to our apartment, oh how I miss the convenience of college bars! I was one of the last two to leave the bar, walking back over I could hear my roommates {aka hubby {then boyfriend} and his cousin} and then they came into view … on the roof. First Reaction: They are drunken fools … Second Reaction: ROOF PARTY!!
Oh yes, how was this not a FABULOUS idea?! Don’t worry this was not the roof of the whole building. Our apartment was on the 2nd Floor and our unit happened to have a balcony with super easy access to the roof of the parking garage. We. Had. A. Blast. And that is probably an understatement. It was a perfect Grad night until there was a knock on the door…
THE COPS.
Oh and not just any cops … BICYCLE COPS!! {This still cracks me up} Yes while strolling with their pedal bikes, our Roof Party was found - the celebrating was a tad too loud I guess! We were let off with a warning but told to break the party up and anyone not residing at our apartment had to go home.
One of my favorite moments was my friend asking the cops if they had an extra helmet for her, and could just give her a ride home - Note: Bicycle Cops at 3am don't find that funny!!
We woke up the next morning reliving our awesome Roof Party and thankful we got off with a warning ...
{If Only That Were True}
The apartment owners got notification of our party warning and decided to Evict us! We had 3 days to move out with no place to go.
Long Story Short :: Don't have a Roof Party at your Apartment Complex, because the Bicycle Cops will find you!!
well memories are great no matter what kind of memories they are right?
ReplyDeletewould love for you to come join me at this blog challenge i'm co-hosting please. http://hotpinkowl02.blogspot.com/2014/02/blog-challenge.html
Oh my word! I can't believe they evicted you over that!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I guess it was good you only got a warning but to evict you, seriously?!
ReplyDeleteOMG - wait. You guys seriously got evicted over that? If that was the case in my current apartment building, the pot heads beneath me woulda been evicted because they accidentally set the building on fire like two months ago.
ReplyDeleteOh, man. Great story! I can't believe you got evicted! What do these landlords expect in a college town?

Bahahahaha! Dying over what your friend said to the cop!
ReplyDeleteWait, your sweet soul was evicted?!? Puh-lease apartment building owner! They were just jealous they weren't invited to the party!
ReplyDeleteWe had cops on those Seg-way things in college and they'd stop people regularly... I couldn't take a single one of them seriously!
hahaha--certainly sounds like a college adventure story!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the bicycle cops?! Too funny.
ReplyDeleteYep, it makes this story 20 times better!! haha
ReplyDeletehaha yep it sure made my last day a memorable one!!
ReplyDeleteYa and then the development company tried to take us to court because at 12:05 we were still talking to the manager in our unit - we had to be out by 12 - all of our stuff was out and we were checked out just friendly chatting. It was ridiculous!! Thankfully no court date and we were done with those people forever :-)
ReplyDeleteI know every time I think of that night, that conversation comes to mind and I burst out laughing!!
ReplyDeleteRight?! Glad to be done with those people, that is for sure :-)
ReplyDeleteRidiculous right?! How is that even possible to set a fire, on purpose or not and keep your unit? Wow!!
ReplyDeleteYa the property owners must have woke up on the wrong side of bed, but I'm glad we were done with them!!
ReplyDeleteYep in a college town less than two blocks from campus, what did they expect on grad night!! :-)
ReplyDeleteExactly! I was very upset when it happened but now I look back and laugh!!
