Wedding Bouquet Shadowbox.
The day after my wedding I hung my bouquet upside down in my closet. You don't want to store it in direct light because the petals could get a really bad burned look to them. I didn't spray it or anything and it dried very well, I was impressed.
It has almost been one year since we got married and I finally got around to making this wonderful keepsake. {I may have some issues with procrastination, oops. Thank goodness for my sister coming home to help make this}
What You Will Need:
:: Shadowbox {mine is 12x15 and 3in deep}
:: Decorative paper {or whatever you'd like behind your flowers, I know some like to use their wedding program}
:: Double Stick Tape {I used this to tape the paper to the back of the box}
:: Hot Glue Gun {used to glue in boutonniere}
:: Hot Glue Gun {used to glue in boutonniere}
:: Your bouquet and whatever other keepsakes from your special day {I used my garter; my husband's boutonniere; his cufflinks and wine corks}
I had to trim my bouquet down in the back because it was initially to thick for the box; it is still in there tight enough so I didn't have to mess with gluing it. The only thing I glued in the box was the boutonniere and then our wedding date. The corks, garter and cufflinks are just placed in there loosely.
If you make one of these let me know, I'd love to see your finished product!!
Hey, I found your blog from living in yellow. I saved my bouquet but after only a few months it was ugly and withering away.. I wish I could have made something like this! It looks really cute! Where will you put it?
ReplyDeleteOk, that is SO cool! I have mine in a vase in our bedroom but this would preserve it so much better!
ReplyDeleteAw, I have my bouquet in a shadow box as well. It sits on our dresser and has a copy of our program, the flower petals that our flower girl threw down, my hubs tie, and the tiara that my sister also wore in her wedding. :) Yours looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteAwww! that turned out lovely! I like that you included multiple different keepsakes in the same box. I don't even have those types of keepsakes from my wedding!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I'll definitely be sharing with my sister, who's getting married this weekend

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I've been married just a little over a year and I've been wondering what to do with some of my wedding keepsakes.
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through Postcards from Rachel. I am loving this idea, and pinned it my wedding planning board. I loved that you included some other fun items from the night as well.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to do this! Yours turned out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I'm getting married in 9 days and will remember to keep little things here and there to put into a shadow box. Thanks for the great idea!!! -Lena (www.shinystout.com)
